This is a beautiful 1893 50c World’s Colombian Exposition Commemorative Silver Half Dollar. This coin was that first United States commemorative coin. It was issued to raise funds for the 1892-1893 World’s Colombian Expo and marks the quadricentennial of Christopher Columbus’ first voyage to America.
