This is a beautiful 1893 50c World’s Colombian Exposition Commemorative Silver Half Dollar. This coin was that first United States commemorative coin. It was issued to raise funds for the 1892-1893 World’s Colombian Expo and marks the quadricentennial of Christopher Columbus’ first voyage to America.**The dark spots that can be seen in some of the pictures are not on the item. It is caused by the reflection of the camera used to take the photos.**All metal is tested with a Thermo Scientific Niton DXL precision metal Analyzer.***
